Muslims and non-Muslims in England
In a multicultural and multi-religious Europe, there is significant public interest in how relations between Muslims and non-Muslims are and should be like, as well as how they are and should be managed. The project engages key stakeholders in frank conversations about Muslim-majority relations in England. Based on observational fieldwork and personal interviews, as well as quantitative data, in three inner cities (London; Birmingham; Halifax), Jörg Friedrichs has published an article on segregation in schools and another on majority-Muslim hate crimes. Jörg is presenting his overall findings in his latest book on Integration in Multicultural England: Community Relations between Muslims and Non-Muslims (Bloomsbury Academic, 2025).
