This AHRC-funded project will research new, Africa-led and practice-oriented methodologies for restitution of African film heritage.

Co-edited by Dan Hodgkinson, the issue draws from the symposium ‘Visions of Life’, held at ODID in 2022.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Ibrahim Bangura is a 2024-25 AfOx Visiting Fellow with ODID under the mentorship of Dr John Gledhill. 

The book is based on Sarah’s DPhil research at the Refugee Studies Centre.

The book draws on oral histories and extensive archival research.

The list in the Africa Report highlights 10 scholars who ‘have been making life-changing decisions that help change the world every day.’

The festival brings together researchers, academics, artists, practitioners, and others from throughout East Africa to promote refugee leadership in universities and in forced migration research and practice. 

ODID will be making a strong showing at the 2023 European Conference on African Studies.

The former MSc in Migration Studies student features in the Global Top 100 under 40 list.

The installation combines social science data with film, composition, performance and art.

His research at ODID will focus on male health and wellbeing in Harare, Zimbabwe.
