Roxana Akhmetova

Roxana is a DPhil candidate in Migration Studies. Her research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in immigration and border governance, with a particular focus on Canada. For her doctoral project, Roxana employs a mixed-methods qualitative approach that will draw on relevant official documents and academic literature on the use of AI in governance, as well as ethnographic data from in-depth interviews with network actors and experts.

Before joining the DPhil, Roxana completed an MSc in Migration Studies at Oxford, and an MA and BA in Political Studies in Canada.
