Kelly Weaver

Director, Development and Partnerships, Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI)

Kelly is the Director, Development and Partnerships at OPHI and is responsible for developing and leading OPHI’s external funding and partnerships strategy and helping OPHI position itself effectively within the broader ecosystems of global development, policy, academia, and philanthropy. Kelly is a senior fundraising, partnerships and communications leader with over 20 years’ experience securing mission-aligned funding, building cross-sector partnerships and leading strategic communications for international organisations. Kelly was most recently the Head of External Relations at the global NGO, Rainforest Foundation UK, with a mission to drive collaborative change to support human and Indigenous rights as a way to protect the world’s vital rainforests. Prior to this, Kelly served as Deputy Director at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill’s Center for Galapagos Studies, building global strategic partnerships and initiatives and leading fundraising and communications strategy for the only university science centre in the Galapagos Islands. She has also spent many years at the University of Oxford, both with Saïd Business School and Oxford Sport during the 2012 London Olympics. Kelly is excited to be doing meaningful work with global impact and to ultimately help protect both human and environmental rights.
