Katerina Nordin

Project Coordinator, Choosing Islamic Conservatism

Katerina joined the ERC-funded Choosing Islamic Conservatism project in May 2022 and works closely with the PI, Professor Masooda Bano, to deliver financial and administrative coordination to the project. She also assists in coordinating aspects of the research and its related requirements.

Katerina joined the department in 2017, and has worked on the Changing Structure of Islamic Authority (CSIA) project as Project Coordinator, and with Young Lives as a Project Officer. 

Katerina holds an MPhil in Islamic Studies and History from the University of Oxford, where she focused on education systems and female-led spaces of learning, and a BA (hons) in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies. She has worked in various roles in research and project management capacities, focusing on the Muslim world, education, development and employment.
