The department is a lively community that is recognised internationally as one of the top centres for research and teaching in development studies.
Katerina Nordin joined Young Lives in February 2020, in a temporary role providing information and programme management support and became a Programme Officer in October 2020.
In her role, Katerina supports Young Lives’ programme management with a specific focus on the current portfolio of research grants. She coordinates general administration, financial management and reporting across the projects. She maintains information management and monitoring throughout the programme. She works closely with the Programme Officer, Programme Manager and Communications Manager to deliver robust systems and organisation to the programme.
Katerina holds an MPhil in Islamic Studies and History from the University of Oxford, where she focused on education systems and female-led spaces of learning, and a BA (hons) in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies. She has worked in various roles in research and project management capacities, focusing on the Muslim world, education, development and employment. She joined ODID in 2017 as Project Coordinator for the Changing Structures of Islamic Authority project.
