Alexandre Bagolle
Alexandre is a part-time DPhil student in Political Economy of Development at the University of Oxford. His doctoral research examines the relationship between economic inequality, environmental degradation, and the emergence of eco-social welfare regimes, using comparative and mixed-methods approaches across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Alongside his academic work, Alexandre has built an extensive professional career in the field of social policy and development, with a particular focus on social protection systems, labor markets, and poverty reduction in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has worked closely with governments and international partners on the design, financing, and evaluation of large-scale social programs, including adaptive and shock-responsive social protection, cash transfer systems, and socio-environmental policy instruments. His professional experience combines policy design, institutional strengthening, and applied research, with a strong emphasis on translating empirical evidence into scalable public policy solutions.
