Oda Eide
Oda Eide is pursuing a DPhil in International Development. Her work broadly focuses on issues of labour, gender, and digital transitions with a focus on youth unemployment in South Africa. Building on her work during her MPhil in Development Studies, her project explores how youth in urban South Africa navigate formal job seeking in a rapidly digitalising employment sector. For her efforts in the MPhil, she was awarded the Eugene Havas Memorial Price 2023 for best overall performance.
Oda has an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Oxford, a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from Durham University, and a 1-year degree in Intellectual History from the University of Oslo. She has now received the Aker Scholarship to undertake her doctoral studies
