TMCD hosts 4th China-UK Innovation and Development Forum

The Technology and Management Centre for Development (TMCD) at ODID convened the 4th iteration of the China-UK Forum on Innovation and Development this month, to explore the benefits and challenges of emerging technologies for sustainable and inclusive development.

This forum was organised in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institutes of Science and Development, the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Association of British Chinese Professors, the China-Britain Business Council, and the UK Economic and Social Research Council.

The forum also saw the launch of the UK-China Research Network, comprising 20 high-profile research institutions. The objective of the network is to promote joint research and enhance cooperation between the two countries. The network will reflect on critical decisions as the UK prepares for its post-Brexit transition, and China drafts its 2030 long-term development plan.

The forum was held at St Antony’s College on 11 November.
