Ahead of elections in India this summer, Nikita Sud has written a comment piece on Narendra Modi, the man projected by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as its prime ministerial candidate.

Sud writes that, while the BJP seeks to cash in on the humble background of Modi, a former tea vendor, an examinataion of his rise to power suggests the reality is more complicated.
