Issue 44 (3), Septmber 2016, includes a special section on "Indigenous peoples and the capability approach", with five articles exploring the advantages and limitations of the human development and capability approach to wellbeing and development in relation to the values, needs, and aspirations of indigenous peoples.

The issue also includes two general articles, one examining the use of subjective wellbeing as a tool in policy evaluation through an investigation of food security in rural Chhattisgarh, India, and the second arguing that indicators of development measure 'modernisation' but neglect quality of life.
