Humanitarian Innovation Project Launch Event
A launch event for a new ODID project, the Humanitarian Innovation Project, takes place on Thursday November 15 and will include a panel discussion with the project's academic staff.
The event will feature the following presentations:
- Humanitarian innovation and refugee protection - Dr Alexander Betts, University Lecturer in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies and the project PI
- Building a humanitarian innovation database - Louise Bloom, Research Officer (Engineering/Management)
- Refugee livelihoods and private sector engagement in Uganda - Dr Naohiko Omata, Research Officer (Social Sciences)
The two-year project aims to explore ways in which product and process innovation can be used to transform refugee protection. It is funded by a $600,000 donation form Stephanie and Hunter Hunt through the Communities Foundation of Texas.
The event takes place at 5 pm in Seminar Room 3.
