Former MSc GGD Student to Stand in Elections for European Parliament

Joseph Waldstein, who graduated from the MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy in 2013, will stand in elections to the European Parliament in May this year.

Following his graduation in 2013 he initiated “Ich & die EU”, a non-partisan EU-information campaign touring through Austria’s secondary schools reaching out to over 1,200 pupils.

Joseph Waldstein was nominated by Austria’s People’s Party as a youth candidate and “sees his nomination as an opportunity to continue his work, reach out to young people and represent their interests.”

In 2007, Austria became the first European country to reduce the voting age to 16 for all elections.
