Call for Papers: Determinants of International Migration Conference

The International Migration Institute (IMI) will hold a conference in September 2014 as the culmination of its project on The Determinants of International Migration: A Theoretical and Empirical Assessment of Policy, Origin and Destination Effects (DEMIG).

The conference will be held on 23-25 September 2014 at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.

Stephen Castles, Filiz Garip, Douglas Massey and Ronald Skeldon will be giving keynote speeches at this interdisciplinary conference, which aims to advance evidence-based and theoretical understanding of the determinants of migration processes.

The themes for the conference are:

  • The role of development in migration processes
  • The role of states and policies in migration processes
  • Migration theories

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15 February 2014.
