Alexandra Boothroyd

Research Student

Alex is a DPhil candidate at the Oxford Department of International Development. Her research looks at the opioid crisis from a Global South perspective: exploring inequalities in access to clinical pain management as a window onto the politics of global health. 

Prior to the DPhil, Alex worked as a Research Associate at UCL’s Institute for Global Prosperity. She holds an MSc in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology from the University of Oxford and a BA in History from the University of Sussex. Her doctoral research is funded by an ESRC studentship and the Kingsgate Graduate Scholarship from Lincoln College.
