Filipa Saraiva

Filipa Saraiva has a degree in Sociology (2019) with a minor in International Relations from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra having been awarded the prize for the 3% best students at the University of Coimbra that same year, and a Master's degree (2023) in Political Science and International Relations: Security and Defence from the Institute of Political Studies of the Portuguese Catholic University, with the dissertation entitled "The Defining Crisis of our Time: Climate Change and Migration - A Comprehensive Approach on what to do about Climate Migrants", which received a grade of 18/20. 

Currently, she is a PhD student in Sociology of the State, Law, and Justice at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, having been awarded a PhD scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology for the development of her research. Her research explores the dynamics between overfishing, climate change, and migratory aspirations in Cape Verde's young population. In addition, in the professional field, she has acquired experience in diplomacy and external relations, as well as in executive education.
