ODS Sanjaya Lall Student Prize 2011-12 Awarded to Sarthak Gaurav and Ashish Singh

The Oxford Development Studies Sanjaya Lall Student Prize 2011-12 has been awarded to Sarthak Gaurav and Ashish Singh for their article "An Inquiry into the Financial Literacy and Cognitive Ability of Farmers: Evidence from Rural India" in ODS 40 (3): 358-380

The Sanjaya Lall Student Prize is awarded every other year for the best article published by a student or students in the previous two years' volumes. ODS also awards an overall prize of  £500 every year for the best article published in the previous year's volume. The 2012 winner was Dr Mehrene Larudee for her article "Measuring Openness: VADE, Not Trade" published in ODS 40 (1): 119-137

The prizes are named in honour of the late Sanjaya Lall, who was Professor of Economics at Oxford University and formerly Managing Editor of ODS. All past winners of the main prize are currently freely available on the Taylor and Francis website.
