MPhil Student Re Phillips Wins Fulbright Research Award to Study African Migration to Asia

Ré Phillips, a second year student on the MPhil in Development Studies, has been awarded a Fulbright Research Award to study eastward African migration flows to emerging economies in Asia.

Her research will be conducted over a 14 month period in Guangzhou, China, and will build on her current MPhil thesis research on African migration to contemporary India.

She hopes the comparative analysis will reveal larger insights about the impact of emerging economies, such as China and India, on African development trajectories.
