05 February, 2013

ODID's Miles Tendi has written a comment piece for the Guardian on the personality of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe.

Dr Tendi interviews a number of current and former ministers to reveal a portrait of a politician with many, sometimes contradictory and unexpected, sides. He points out that Mugabe has vowed to "fight like a wounded animal" in forthcoming elections and asks which side will emerge if he loses.

Miles Tendi is Departmental Lecturer in African History and Politics. His book, Making History in Mugabe's Zimbabwe: Politics, Intellectuals and the Media, was published in 2010.
