DPhil Student Helps Make Documentary on Trash in Cairo
ODID research student Jamie Furniss has helped make a documentary that offers a unique perspective on the city of Cairo by taking a look at its rubbish.
The programme is part of a series entitled Transhopolis which is to air on History Television in North America later this year. The series will also be released in France and Germany under the title Petites Histoires de Nos Ordures.
Jamie, who was Assistant Director on the Cairo programme, is researching garbage and garbage collectors in Cairo for his DPhil.
The series, which will also look at rubbish in London, New York, Paris and Rome, is a Pixcom, Inc. and Taxi-Brousse Co-production.
