Professor Xiaolan Fu has written a chapter in a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Under the Radar: Innovation Evolves in Asia titled "What Potential Does Open Innovation Hold for Asia?"

The chapter takes on the argument that Asia’s top-down approach to economic planning cannot possibly be capable of innovation, showing how the region’s innovation ecosystems are in fact surprisingly enthusiastic about open, collaborative innovation
