15-Min Flash Talk: The Double Displaced: Palestinian Refugees from Syria
Join us for a new episode of ODID Flash Talks: a new series where a speaker gets 15 minutes to present on their research, fieldwork, or work experience.
When the Syrian uprising began in 2011, around 500,000 Palestinians were living in the country. Since then, more than 1 in 10 of them have fled the country to seek refuge abroad - yet coverage of the Syrian refugee crisis rarely mentions them.
In this flash talk, Dr Anne Irfan will illuminate the neglected stories of Palestinian refugees from Syria by examining their myriad responses to the crisis. The talk will combine expertise from her academic research into Palestinian refugee history, with experience gained from her work with NGOs.
The short talk will be followed by a Q&A and socialising in the Hall.
All welcome to this free event. A light lunch is provided.
