Locating narratives of contested sites and memories through the Museum of Conflict in Gujarat, India

An interaction with Avni Sethi

Avni Sethi is an interdisciplinary practitioner with her primary concern lying between culture, memory, space and the body.

She conceptualized and designed the Conflictorium, a museum of conflict, the only museum space in India dedicated to looking critically at conflict. The museum has since been home to diverse critical explorations on conflict transformation and art practice. Built on the principle of participation, the museum maintains no yellow lines or glass boxes. Conflictorium imagines itself as an incubatory space that acts as a catalyst to newer forms of practice within the social sphere.
