Part-time Editorial Assistant, Oxford Development Studies
The Oxford Department of International Development seeks an experienced Editorial Assistant for the Oxford Development Studies journal. The post is part-time (0.5 FTE/18.25 hours per week) and is fixed-term until 31 December 2023. Working with the Editor of the ODS, the Assistant to the Editors will undertake editing of articles, and manage use of the online submission system by journal authors. S/he will also undertake all administration associated with the journal, including monitoring the budget, arranging meetings, and dealing with enquiries.
The successful candidate will have excellent editing and writing skills in English; excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload, work to deadlines, and to work independently and with others; attention to detail and high level of accuracy and numeracy; and experience of managing a budget. Excellent computer skills including email, Word, Excel and the internet, and experience of committee servicing are also essential.
