The department is a lively community that is recognised internationally as one of the top centres for research and teaching in development studies.
Nigeria Research Network
The Nigeria Research Network was active at ODID until 2017.
It connected European, American, and Nigerian academics with extensive experience with empirical and development-oriented research in northern Nigeria.
It was based at ODID at the University of Oxford, where it involved the late Professor Abdul Raufu Mustapha, David Ehrhardt, and Hannah Hoechner.
Other members included Phil Ostien, Kate Meagher, Rachael Diprose, Adam Higazi, and several PhD and MPhil researchers. The NRN collaborated closely with the development Research and Project Centre in Kano, which has an excellent track record of designing and implementing community development projects in Nigeria’s northern States.
