Experiences of an Ebola vaccine trial in Goma, DRC

This project examines local experiences of the 10th Ebola epidemic (2018-2020) and biomedical interventions in North Kivu, eastern DRC. Drawing on ethnographic observation, in-depth interviews and focus groups conducted in North Kivu between 2020-2021, it focuses on participant experiences of an Ebola vaccine trial in Goma, as well as the debates and concerns surrounding the vaccine trial at a time when clinical research became an explosive topic during the COVID-19 pandemic.
