Departmental Lecturer in Development Studies

Grade 7, £33,309 - 40,927
The Oxford Department of International Development seeks to appoint two Departmental Lecturers in Development Studies. The posts are full time and fixed-term – one for 3 years and one for 2 years.
In an intellectually stimulating and challenging multidisciplinary department, the Departmental Lecturers will provide teaching and supervision for the MPhil in Development Studies and carry out related independent research. MPhil teaching routinely offers the opportunity to address broad theoretical and methodological approaches.
The Departmental Lecturers will be responsible to the Head of Department and work under the supervision of the Course Director of the MPhil in Development Studies. We would welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in any of a broad range of themes in International Development, including, but not limited to, the environment, climate change, race or gender. For one of the posts, preference may be given to a regional focus on South Asia. We also particularly welcome candidates with expertise in historical and political approaches to Development Studies.
The University of Oxford and the Department of International Development are Athena SWAN Bronze award holders in recognition of its efforts to introduce organisational and cultural practices that promote gender equality and create a better working environment for all.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.

Only applications received before 12 noon (UK Time) on Monday 23 May 2022 can be considered.
