Co-Editor, Forced Migration Review
Forced Migration Review seeks a Co-Editor (part-time, 80% of full-time). Forced Migration Review (FMR www.fmreview.org) is a renowned international magazine on refugees and internal displacement published by the Refugee Studies Centre (Oxford Department of International Development). It is managed by two Co-Editors who share responsibility for the management and implementation of all aspects of FMR.
The duties and responsibilities of the Co-Editors fall into two main areas: planning, editing, producing, distributing and promoting FMR in its four language editions (English, Arabic, Spanish and French); and securing funding for all aspects of the work, including the salary costs for all FMR staff. Apart from the two Co-Editors, there are two other part-time staff in the FMR team.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent preferably in social sciences; excellent editing and writing skills in English, and excellent proof-reading skills; demonstrable skills in communication and promotion; demonstrable ability to prepare and manage budgets; good IT skills; experience of line management; and knowledge and experience of forced migration/development issues. You will be at ease liaising in person as well as remotely with researchers, policymakers, practitioners and donors around the world, and working as a member of a small, tight-knit team in Oxford. Proficiency in Spanish, French and/or Arabic would be an advantage, as would familiarity with web analytics.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application.
Only applications received before 12 noon (UK Time) on Friday 23 October 2020 can be considered.
