Ms Gunvor Jonsson

Departmental Lecturer in Migration and Development

Gunvor teaches on the MSc in Migration Studies and is completing her PhD in Anthropology at SOAS, at the University of London.

She holds an MA in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen and a BA and BA Honours in Anthropology from the University of Pretoria.

From 2008-12 Gunvor worked as a researcher at the International Migration Institute (IMI) on the IMI’s African Migrations Programme and on projects including African Perspectives on Human Mobility; Mobility in the African Great Lakes; and Theorizing the Evolution of European Migration Systems (THEMIS).

Gunvor teaches the Migration, Globalisation and Social Transormation core course for the MSc in Migration Studies, as well as offering an option on Migration and Mobilities in Africa.
