The department is a lively community that is recognised internationally as one of the top centres for research and teaching in development studies.
Ana joined the Young Lives team in 2017 and is responsible for managing Young Lives research uptake and raising the profile of study findings and policy advice amongst key audiences internationally. She oversees the publications programme, media relations, events and digital communications including social media, e-communications and website content.
Her academic background is across literature and health disciplines and she holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Global Health and Development from University College London (UCL). To date, her career has focused on research communications and development, working for Polygeia, the World Health Organization (Roll Back Malaria Partnership) and the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (UCL/Yale) before coming to Young Lives.
She has conducted research into the psychosocial impact of leprosy in Sirajganj, Bangladesh alongside Lepra and works as a freelance writer (notably as editor of Matters du Monde) and speaker, delivering a TEDx talk in 2015.
