Democracy and Social Decisions

Professor Amartya Sen, Lamont University Professor and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, Harvard, will deliver a Distinguished Public Lecture entitled ‘Democracy and Social Decisions’ at 5pm on 18 January 2017 in the Sheldonian Theatre. The lecture will be chaired by the Rt Hon Lord Patten of Barnes, Chancellor of the University.

The occasion for the lecture, which is organized by OPHI, is the publication of the significantly expanded edition of Professor Sen’s book Collective Choice and Social Welfare.

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Registration is required.
