Report of the Commission on Global Poverty – Oxford Launch

On 4 November, from 3-6 pm, Monitoring Global Poverty, the report of the Commission on Global Poverty’ chaired by Sir Tony Atkinson, will be launched. The Commission was set up by the World Bank’s Chief Economist to advise the World Bank on “how to measure and monitor global poverty” in monetary and non-monetary domains.

Tony Atkinson will present the Report and its Recommendations, while Panelists will draw out points of mention. Panelists include Oxford-based and associated Commission members: Robert Allen, Stefan Dercon, James Foster, and Sabina Alkire; as well as Oxfam’s Duncan Green and junior scholars. The event is co-hosted by the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI) and the Oxford Martin School, and will be held in the Auditorium of the Oxford Martin School, on 34 Broad Street, Oxford.
