ODID's Professor Xiaolan Fu is quoted in an article for Nature about investment of UK foreign aid in science partnerships with middle-income economies.

The United Kingdom has launched a five-year, £375 million (US$630 million) fund to support science and innovation partnerships with researchers in developing countries, focussing on economic development.

Professor Fu argues that international development needs to promote economic growth for long-term, sustainable change and says the role of innovation in achieving this goal is receiving more attention from donor countries.

Professor Fu is Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development (TMCD) at ODID.
