RSC, OPHI teams Highly Commended for impact in new O2RB awards

We are delighted that teams from the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) were Highly Commended for their impact at the inaugural O2RB Excellence in Impact Awards on 19 April.

Professor Alexander Betts, Dr Naohiko Omata and Dr Olivier Sterck won for their work as part of the Refugee Economies Programme.

OPHI won for their impact on poverty measurement methodologies used by the World Bank and the United Nations Development Program.

The O2RB Excellence in Impact Awards are an opportunity for members of the University of Oxford, the Open University, Reading and Oxford Brookes Universities (O2RB) to come together to recognise and reward the successes of social sciences researchers who have achieved, or are currently achieving, excellent economic and societal impacts. 

The other winners were:

  • Excellence in Impact: Prof Abigail Adams (Economics) & Prof Jeremias Prassl (Law); Prof Lucie Cluver & Young Carers team (Social Policy & Intervention); Dr Rachel Condry (Law, Criminology); Dr Weizi Li (Henley Business School, Reading).
  • Early Career Impact Champion: Dr Shona Minson (Criminology, Law).
  • Impact Champion: Dr Rachel Condry

The awards were presented at a ceremony at St Anne’s College.
