Professor Xiaolan Fu Interviewed by BBC, ChinaDaily on State Visit of Xi Jinping

Professor Xiaolan Fu of ODID was recently interviewed by BBC outlets and ChinaDaily about the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying the UK and China would see "all-round closer collaboration ...in economic, technological, cultural and social aspects."

Professor Fu, Director of the Technology and Management Centre for Development (TMCD) at ODID, spoke to BBC World News, the BBC News channel, the BBC Chinese website and ChinaDaily about the visit. She also commented live for BBC News during Mr Xi's visit to Buckingham Palace.

Professor Fu said that Mr Xi’s visit would "start a golden decade for both countries.... The golden era embodies the two countries' current strengths and common interests."

Where the two countries complement each other, China and the UK can realise a strong union and become good partners, she said, adding that both governments take positive and pragmatic approaches to cooperation.
