OPHI to Organise High-Level Side Event at UN General Assembly on Poverty Measurement for SDGs

The Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) at ODID will help organise a High-Level Side Event at the UN General Assembly on 22 September to provide updates on how countries are using measures of multidimensional poverty to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event, titled “Measuring and Tackling Poverty in All Its Dimensions", is organised by the Republic of South Africa with the support of the Government of Seychelles and OPHI on behalf of over 45 governments represented by the Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network (MPPN).

The MPPN is a South-South network of senior government officials that is championing the use of multidimensional poverty measures alongside monetary measures at both national and global levels.
