Analsyis by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) of the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) figures for 2013 has been attracting press attention around the world.

The global MPI 2013 figures were published in the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Report 2013 - The Rise of the South: Human Progress in a Diverse World.

The global MPI is an international measure of acute poverty covering 104 developing countries that was developed by OPHI and the UNDP in 2010, and has been published in its flagship Human Development Reports ever since.
