Nikita Sud Interviewed by Radio France on Indian Anti-Corruption Bill

Nikita Sud has been interviewed by Radio France about India's Anti-Corruption Bill, which is expected to be passed by India's Upper House today, 16 December.

The bill would create a corruption watchdog, or Lokpal, with the power to investigate claims against ministers.

Nikita says all major parties, at central and regional levels, have had corruption scandals, but points out that the Lokpal would have no power to deal with lower-level, everday corruption, which she says is endemic in India.
