MPhils head for fieldwork projects in 17 countries

Our first-year MPhil in Development Studies students are heading off across the world to carry out fieldwork this summer, with 25 projects planned in 17 countries.

Students on our two-year MPhil write a 30,000-word thesis as part of their degree and carry out research in the field to support this in the summer between their first and second years.

This year we have students visiting 17 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, studying topics as diverse as the introduction of Uber in Mexico City, women's access to credit in Indonesia, the integration of former child soldiers in Sierra Leone and women in small-scale mining in Ghana... to name just a few.

Find out where the students are heading and what they are researching with our new clickable fieldwork map.
