Masooda Bano's Work on Radicalisation Features in ESRC Video

Masooda Bano's research on radicalisation featured in an impact video that aired at a major Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) event in London on 3 November 2011.

The event, entitled  'Celebrating the Social Sciences', was attended by David Willetts, MP, Minister for Science and Universities, and Mark Easton, BBC News Home Editor, and more than 100 academics.

Dr Bano's research is part of the Research Councils UK's Global Uncertainties Programme. Through a focus on female madrassas in Pakistan, it explores how religious beliefs become radicalised and whether state law enforcement agencies can counter these processes through the use of military force.
