Joerg Friedrichs Writes on IPCC Report in Guardian

Joerg Friedrichs has written an article for the Guardian ahead of the release of the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change today.

In the article, he suggests that the reams of paper produced by the IPCC are unlikely to galvanise the world to action because it is not lack of knowledge but the natural human tendency to denial - what he has called the 'moral economy of inaction' - that is stalling progress against climate change.

A longer version of the article can be found on our departmental blog, Debating Development, and on the MIT Press website.

In August, MIT Press published Joerg's book, The Future is Not What it Used to Be, which examines the twin challenges of climate change and energy scarcity.
