Economist Features Nando Sigona's Research on Migrant Children in UK

A new article in The Economist features research carried out by Dr Nando Sigona of ODID and Vanessa Hughes on the plight of undocumented migrant children in the UK.

The research was published in a report entitled "No Way Out, No Way In: Irregular Migrant Children and Families in the UK", which showed that an estimated 120,000 children living in the UK without legal immigration status are at risk of destitution, exploitation and social exclusion.

The Economist article highlights the fact that these children "lie at the intersection of three official priorities: to protect children, to discourage illegal immigration and to economise on public services. These interests are colliding."
