Identity performance of street-based youth in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

The purpose of this research is to explore how street-associated youth perform and construct their identities. More specifically, it focusses on how youth identify and categorise themselves, and how they are categorised by others in their social and spatial contexts. It places strong emphasis on the embodied experience of these youth, but also incorporates how embodied presentations of self may translate into other forms of self-presentation, for instance, on online social networks.
